Give Peace A Chance

December 8th is fast approaching, the day the music died. The assassination of John Lennon by the CIA. The price one pays for speaking out against corrupt governments, or at least players who tried to kidnap democracy. The US of A assassinate someone, no way you say. How about JFK, Martin Luther King jr, Bobbi Kennedy, John Lennon, John Kennedy jr, Lady Diane, and countless other innocent people assassinated by the CIA or at least supported by that organization. Its well documented, but hard to believe, right (wing), not...Just recently the senate passed a motion to not allow the CIA to kill foriegn political leaders...darn...that's no fun. The USA has supported numerous dictators who executed hundreds of thousands of farmers, union organizers, Indigenous people, etc... Saharto of Indonesia for example, as Clinton said: He's our kind of guy. What about Iraq, South America, Congo, Haita, Africa, Darfur, etc...Two must see movies, actually four if you include Michael Mooer's next film and Al Gore's movie concerning the destruction of our planet, plus the coming film: The US Vs John Lennon. Right now the movie Bobbi is playing. If you love this planet then we all must rise to the occassion where ever and when ever destiny allows it to happen. The Dooms Day clock was close to midnight when we discovered the batteries had died a few invasions ago. The movie Bobbi is trying to evoke life into that spirit of hope, peace, and love of the Sixties. Abby Hoffman, Lennon, Panthers, and the people protesting for peace to stop a government hell bent to escalate WAR, what is it good for! absoutley nothing! say it again you all...Brother John (like so many others) paid the ultimate price for speaking out in the name of peace & love. He could have chose to say nothing and lived to be an old rocker saying nothing and falling out of Coconut Trees. one has to wonder why a known Cuban CIA assassin was the doorman at the Dakota apartments the night poet john lennon was gunned down in front of his wife/soulmate Yoko Ono. And no trial for Chapman. Check out John's website. The message is the same...power to the people...give peace a chance, or maybe give our environment a chance. Lets bring peace to the middle east and the rest of the planet. Spend those trillions on life in inner heart space and not outer space. Peace is there if you want it to be. Who then will be next to pick up the gauntlet of peace, for the price is high, it matters not for a people's movement is mounting against the new global royalty...what other choice is there...really? There's more then meets the Catcher In The Rye...Noam Chomsky has a few answers, check him out. Critical thinking is the light beam from the light house warning us of the rocks lying beneath shallow water, look deep and you will find the hostage...democracy...and deliver it safely to a just and civil world dedicated to peace & love just imagine. All my relations!

High Treeson

All the trees are falling, isn't that suppose to be leaves?? Who knows anymore. Our once great Pine Tree forests, are alas, no more. Global warming in the middle North. Further North of course would be the melting of the polar ice-caps, not to mention the polar bears, but whats a few species between friends, something like death by "freindly fire" the outcome is the same however. No matter what my friends, at the end of the day, the most pressing issue on the planet is not whether a person is gay or straight; rich or poor; Christian or Hindu, NDP or Neo-conservative; its about the destruction of our planet/home/spaceship/ Where pray tell will we all live when this one is destroyed. Whats the point again?? An Elder told me that the bears are confused, they don't hibernate properly, waking up in January, the weather is no good, and we're getting confused too!

Destroying for example Amazay Lake (Little Mother) for some greedy corporation can dig out gold and dump 750 million tons of acidic tailings into this lake, thus destroying every life form that this remote lake supports or has given life too! Why would the CEO in Toronto care about our northern environment. They can after all move on to another part of the world and continue to destroy other life forms and then eventually you and I brothers and sisters. Are we any different from the trout, beavers, water spiders etc...And why do we allow governments to spend trillions of dollars in outer space when the money is needed to repair inner heart space, after all my friends if they develop another planet to rape, burn, and pillage, you and I aren't going to be invited to go. This is our home, the one we know about for sure, lets start protecting it for our children, grandchildren, and on and on it goes. There is no negotiating with Mother Earth. In 1999, Walt Taylor, a social/community/global/ activist from our northern region, wrote a book called: Waging peace for a living, an action plan for survival of life on this planet. It was ahead of its time and as I look around the planet it is prophetic. A good read.

Ken Belford, a local eco-poet, has been writing poetry from his lived experiences of living in harmony with nature on and off the land. He writes about the interconnectness of life forms and the delicate balances that are holding us together in these neo-conservative times where rogue trans-national corporations are growing increasingly greedier and careless about the eco-outcomes of their haste to waste. Ken's poems are a reminder of the beauty of nature, and as I see it, a wake-up call to action! Its up to each and one of us to think global and act local. If you love this planet...start showing it by speaking up/out/, the signs are everywhere.

What has been done to the planet, trees, rain forests, is high treeson and politicians and corporations must be held accountable. This is a big fight, one that should be undertaken in groups, find one and get active, and be sure to read between the lions. Question all things! What about the Kyoto accord (no its not a new Honda) Yes, I say/agree/ its time to wage peace, in the words of brother poet/activist/lover/dreamer/John Lennon..."all's we need is Love, that is all we need." Peace.

Life After The Oral Office

Bill Clinton that Cuban cigar poking, sexaphone playing, good ole' boy has become the poster boy for saving the world. Everyone likes Bill and his sidekick Al Bore. These two guys (should be a woman on this magical mystery tour) are touring the world and talking candy about the growing threat of the environment turning cannibalistic on us, caused of course by greedy rugged individuals that are addicted to greed like a junky to heorin, they cannot be trusted to run this runaway train, of which, we are passengers, white knuckled at that, or you're stoned. This is the deciding century of Earth's existance, or maybe rightfully put: our existance, for the world will go on turning with or without us, totally our decision. Even Oprah or Dr. Phil can't solve this one for you, because we're all needed to do our part. We are the chosen ones to become active, there is no other choice. The world is about to change more drasticly then it already has. There can be no more George Bushes of the world, Stephen harpers, Tony Blairs, or that North Korean guy. The way for this to become a reality is for the formation of a global particapatory citizenship. As a seasoned activist i'm Chomskying at the bit to get started. "If you love this planet?" We're all in this together and as Jim said: "no one gets out alive." On that note what about reincarnation, where do they go? 'gone today here tomorrow.' It has been estimated that the Polar Bear will soon become extinct; all the fish in the world oceans will be gone by 2047, not to mention gorillas, orangatangs, and numerous other species, not to mention...US! The ice caps are melting ( no not the ones at Tim Hortons) Or as president Bush said: We'd better do something about this global warming before it comes to the united states." Holy Katrina, Bat Mam, glad his days are numbered. You can negotiate arms reductions, but there is no negotiations with Mother Earth. People wearing tee-shirts have the right to bear arms! We should all be waging peace in a big way, it is by far the most important issue facing humanity, that and human rights. Lets start in Darfur! Write your political leaders and demand a start there, put the united nations peace keeping troops there and lets start looking after our Mother: Earth. Don't spend trillions in outer space, spend it in inner heart space. Peace & Love you all. Poet 911

Thoughts From the Thought Factory

War On People

Corporate CEO's, generals of commerce
planning new assaults
on the working classes of the world
$1000.00 pin striped suits
their modern day uniform
War a necessity to secure bottom lines
globaliesation...strictly for profit
benefiting the global royalty
at the expense of people's culture
world trade organization...high command
controling life giving resources
to debt ridden countries
"Pay or Die"
war declared on global masses
a well kept secret...they own the presses
protesting citizens are beaten, disappear, murdered
ancient cities laid waste
post modern christian crusades / charades
in oiled soaked sand dooms
life blood of capitalism
for weapons of mass destruction
(the ones we know about for sure)
global royalty united again
sifting through the tailings of time.

Now here's a poem of a local flavour:

A Tale of Two Tailings

Listen to Beaver tails
slapping out warnings
too all its relations
behold pristine Amazay Lake (Little Mother)
in all its remote splendor
ancient traditional lake
life giver of this region
thirst quencher too many:
Bears, Moose, Deer,
all the Creator's creations
life giver to First nations people
play ground of the Otter
workplace of the Beavers
home to the finned friends
eco system most delicate
spawning grounds, nesting refuge,
and so much more...
listen to the sounds of nature
in harmony with the land
bird's singing, insects buzzing, fish splashing
Cotton Tails jumping
wild flowers trying to make scents of it all
this lake has room for the Creator's tailings
not 750 million tons of acidic tailings
as proposed by Kemess Mines
Amazay Lake can meet nature's need
but not corporate greed
put your tailings between your legs
and get away from there.

The Wicked Wretch is Dead or He lost the erection.

Finally the USA has come to its senses. Rumsfeld is gone and Bush will be right behind him. It will take years to bring about peace in the Middle East..."give peace a chance" And what about Darfur??? Genocide most horrid is being committed on a daily basis and has been for awhile. Where is the outcry my countryfolk?? Your silence grows deafening in the universe...where is the humanitarian aid? Where is the United Nations? Where are the peace-keeping troops of our just and civilized world? I ask you my friends, do we say nothing, or are we too busy shopping at Walmart, or looking for an inexpensive Pacostco! Is it possible we cannot hear those screams from sisters being raped, murdered, burnt alive, in the name of....of what? Machette justice rules supreme. Waiting, waiting, for help, food, wait...i see a plane, could it be the help we've waited and prayed for...could it be...an arms shipment from good old Uncle Sam. Now the war lords can expediate this genocide and roll up their sleeves and get some good old ethnic cleansing done, make the place look real good. It appears fate has thrown the gauntlet of international peace & love our way...do we accept, or ignore?? It has become obvious that technocats & bureacats are only looking after fat cats, and us mice....well, say: Cheese! Nome Chomsky said there is a people's movement building around the world like we've never seen before..........are you ready..........prozac or proaction! Its time the people took control of this runaway train and applied some brakes.......think global, act local..............what say you??
